Edible Flowers

What are edible flowers:

There are a wide variety of flowers that are eat but not all flowers are edible and many can even be toxic. Some of the edible flowers are varieties of flowers that we usually use in decoration, however, they are not bought in florists or gardening centers, as they are grown with pesticides and other phytopharmaceuticals harmful to health. Edible flowers can only be obtained thanks to the attention and care given to production methods (e.g. biological pest control), harvesting and packaging.
Due to the explosion of flavors and colors and large amount of low-calorie vitamins and minerals, edible flowers have long been used in nouvelle cuisine and cake design.
