About us

About us

From our farm to the most demanding kitchens, since 2015.

How it all began

How it all began

Microgreens was born from a university Marketing project. The website and Facebook page created to present the project unexpectedly started receiving real orders from chefs. There was demand for microgreens and edible flowers that, at the time, were purely fictional.

In 2015 the idea became a company. We started with 140 m² of greenhouses and a full year of trials and adjustments, learning to grow what almost nobody grew.

Today we are a reference for hotels, restaurants and cake design. Every week we serve more than 600 clients, including around 60 Michelin starred restaurants across the Iberian Peninsula.

How we work

Picked by hand

Picked by hand

Every flower and every leaf is picked one by one, at peak freshness, according to each day’s orders.

Delivered in 24 hours

Delivered in 24 hours

From the greenhouse to the kitchen in 24 hours in Portugal and Spain. Across the rest of Europe, in 1 to 2 working days.

Grown by us

Grown by us

We control the whole process, from sowing to harvest, in the protected environment of our greenhouses. That is how we guarantee quality and food safety, 365 days a year.

Sustainability

Growing well also means growing responsibly.

Solar energy

The sun grows the plants and powers everything else: 60 kW of solar panels run our entire operation.

Electric fleet

From greenhouse to doorstep, deliveries travel in 100% electric vehicles.

Sustainable packaging

No virgin plastic, 100% recycled and recyclable.

Regenerative farming

We farm with the soil in mind, leaving the land better than we found it.

There is still plenty of soil to turn

The drive is the same as on day one: do better tomorrow than we did today.
