Irish Moss Seaweed
Quantity 125g
Irish Moss features a delicate, branched structure with shades ranging from deep red and brown to violet nuances. Visually, it closely resembles a coral-like element, bringing detail and organic texture to culinary compositions. Once soaked, it reveals a soft and slightly gelatinous texture, a characteristic that has historically made it highly valued both in gastronomy and other food applications. The flavour is subtle, mineral, and delicately oceanic—less intense than other seaweeds—allowing for more discreet and refined integration. In the kitchen, it stands out for its natural ability to provide texture and richness. It can be used in broths, infusions, desserts, emulsions, or vegetable preparations, whilst also serving as a visual garnish on marine-inspired dishes. Its delicacy makes it particularly interesting in precision-focused fine dining, where small elements contribute to aromatic depth, texture, and visual identity. All of our seaweeds are preserved in salt, and therefore require soaking before use.
