Native to southern Africa, the Social Garlic Flower, commonly known as Garlic Flower, is a delicate, lilac-pink, star-shaped flower that blooms in umbels from mid-March until early autumn. With an intense bulb fragrance that gives it its name, this is an edible flower that is anything but vanilla. Full of personality, it is also super versatile and can be used in a variety of dishes. You can use it to decorate salads, mousses, and pâtés, in main courses like risottos, pastas, and grilled meats, where its flavour can enhance the dish's profile. Try them in soups and stews, where they dissolve, infusing the dish with an incredible garlic note.
